The Tierra del Fuego Province is considered a Special Customs Area (SCA); therefore, the entry of products is subjected to several documentation conditions, including:
If you are about to ship products to that area, we advise you to read the following information:
In the case of merchandise with trade value resulting from the sale between a company domiciled in the continent and another company domiciled in Tierra del Fuego (SCA), Customs and the AFIP (Argentine Tax Revenue Service) require the attachment of a copy or photocopy of the (valued) dispatch note or copy of the invoice (Form 4531/ 65).
In the case of merchandise owned by a company domiciled in the continent with a branch in Tierra del Fuego (SCA), the operation is considered a storage movement, requiring the valued dispatch note of the merchandise involved.
When the merchandise is imported and has already been nationalized, the merchandise origin and data related to the product's nationalization (Dispatch Number and Documenting Customs) must appear in the invoice or sales note.
In the case of shipping new or second-hand tools or machines without commercial treatment (tools sent to carry out some work, which must then return to the continent), a movement note is required, indicating the owner and consignee of said machinery.
Finally, should the shipment include personal items, only a detail of its contents is required in a shipment note.
For the reception of the merchandise, its destination must be the SCA of Tierra del Fuego, it must be accompanied by the invoice and/or sales note (as applicable) and include the CAI together with its expiration date. Any merchandise not covered by such forms cannot be shipped to the SCA.
Cruz del Sur conducts all the applicable proceedings before the applicable Customs (as regards presentation of documents, payment of raft, etc.), offering a complete service to the SCA.
As regards the information above, Cruz del Sur recommends consulting a Customs Officer in order to set the requirements for your shipments.
